The mission of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF) is to preserve the legacy of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, to promote healing and to educate about the impact of the Vietnam War.

VVMF’s latest project, the Education Center at The Wall, fulfills every aspect of this mission.

This unique learning and visitors center will be built in our nation’s capital near the Lincoln and Vietnam Veterans memorials. To give younger visitors some context in which they can relate to the Vietnam War and those who served, the Education Center will display the photos and tell the stories of the men and women whose names are on The Wall.  It will also showcase some of the more than 200,000 items that have been left at The Wall by family and friends, attesting to the love and devotion our nation has for those we lost so many years ago.

A timeline will cover the major events of the Vietnam War, and another exhibit will explain the history of the creation of the Memorial and its components.

A final exhibit will show pictures of those who served in all of America’s wars, highlighting the values of loyalty, duty, respect, service, honor, integrity and courage that have been embodied by all of our nation’s service members, from the Revolutionary War to the current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
