Jan Scruggs writing about the difficulties and paths to success in building both the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and the new Education Center, in the Washington Post
I would like to thank Mr. Scruggs for his vision come true. Without a corner stone being layed a building can’t be built. It was my honor to be present at both, Blue Springs, Mo., and Vinita, Ok. When you stand there and see the Honor and Respect that people bestow on the Names on the “Wall” it is a very moving experience. Young people, and there was a lot of them, who didn’t know a lot about “Nam” had serious questions about what went on there, politicaly and militarily. The education center that has been added is a histoical education with pictures, and descriptive conversations with Vets who experienced situations in Nam. Thank You.
